This is Lesson 3 in a three-part series of Google Slide lessons on reading for the main idea in nonfiction texts. This last lesson will teach students how to use the first and last sentences in nonfiction passages to find the main idea. Once the students read the sentences in the passage closely, ask themselves questions, and think about the text, they will be able to tell what the passage is about. The relationship between the sentences will help students recognize the main point and understand the main idea. PowerPoint and paper copies are available. Send me an email. Be sure to grab the entire 5 lessons in the Main Idea unit in my store. Thank you for your purchase. Your feedback is appreciated
